Schools from all the regions in KZN Province are represented by four learners; two boys and two girls. The process of inviting schools from outside KZN Province was initiated in 2006 and we have recieved a positive response from other provinces such as Gauteng and North West.

2012 Masakhane Youth Leadership Course : Opening Ceremony
This associate was launched in 2002 by a group of committed students under the CDA.
The aim was to run a Youth Leadership Course every year (in July) where learners will be introduced into the university environment through active participation in the leardership course. Learners are invited to stay in the university residences for a complete period of seven days.
The program was designed to involve learners in different leadership activities. Top University Academics, government members, celebrities and leaders in the private sector are invited to speak to learners and share their different leadership skills and expertise.
The Associate aims at:
Ø Promoting cultural awareness and respect for diversity
Ø Helping learners develop good disciplinary methods of leadership
Ø Assisting in building a nation based on ethics and good leadership
Ø Developing and identifying conflict management methods
Ø Explaining and understanding the role of Representative Council of Learners (RCLs)
To meet all the objectives, the associate has introduced the RCLs workshops. Here all learners involved with RCLs in their schools are trained and given sufficient support and guidance to susutain them in their own schooling environment.
